There's a Derrylea townland near Clifden all right but it's not on the sea. 'Keel' could be one of the later stops on the old rail line but if it's meant to be a real place I don't know which one it is. (My own village was mentioned by real name though, & the railway cottage is still lived in.) Very sad about the graves of the magdalene 'penitents' and the lack of dignity afforded them. I hope Patricia won't mind if I share her poem 'Make Visible the Tree' here. It was read into the Dáil record earlier this week by Dara Calleary and deserves as wide an audience as possible.

Make Visible the Tree

Make Visible the Tree
This is the Place of Betrayal.

... They may not have poetic names like 'Silence', but I can't complain as the public transport is excellent - it runs frequently and on time.

Emily E Cullenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18269518291662379006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4299414231308163787.post-18639856026993584572012-09-20T05:52:57.382-07:002012-09-20T05:52:57.382-07:00Oh, are you living in Melbourne right now?
